There are a lot of myths around menstruation and unfortunately this affects how menstrual hygiene products and access to them are handed. We observed that some girls in suburb and rural areas miss out of schools during their monthly menstrual cycle due to poverty and inability to afford sanitary pads. “End period poverty” involves free distribution of sanitary pads to students and schools in order to protect the dignity of the girl child and to ensure no girl miss out from school due to menstruation. So far, we have distributed thousands of pads to female students in several schools in suburb of Abuja FCT, Nasarawa state, Kogi state and environs.
